Before building a presentation, shaping a campaign, or even introducing yourself in a meeting, ask one question: Is the story I\u2019m telling serving me, or the listener?<\/h2>\n<\/div><\/div>

The difference between the two is a matter of perspective, of direction. And more often than not, without realizing it, we start from the wrong one.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

What\u2019s the Right Angle?<\/h3>\n<\/div><\/div>

Simon Sinek framed this through the Golden Circle<\/em>: most organizations communicate from the inside out - what<\/em>, then how<\/em>, and only sometimes why<\/em>. But the human brain works in reverse. We connect to meaning before we connect to details.<\/p><\/div><\/div>

\u201cWe implemented an AI system across the organization\u201d is a fact.
\u201cWe gave every employee two hours back in their day\u201d is a story.
Same reality, different angle, but only one speaks to the heart.<\/p><\/div><\/div>

People Don\u2019t Buy Tools, They Buy a Promise<\/h3>\n<\/div><\/div>

Clayton Christensen captured it with Jobs To Be Done: People don\u2019t buy products, they \u201chire\u201d solutions to move forward. No one wakes up thinking, \u201cI need a CRM.<\/em>\u201d They think: \u201cI\u2019m losing customers. I\u2019m not on top of things.<\/em>\u201d They feel<\/strong> the friction and loss of control. That\u2019s what we need to speak to. The tool is the solution, the need is the story.<\/p><\/div><\/div>

And as Daniel Kahneman and Amos Tversky showed in Prospect Theory<\/em> - we react more strongly to avoiding loss than to gaining value. \u201cSave hours\u201d will always land harder than \u201c40 advanced features.\u201d<\/p><\/div><\/div>

Just A Few Degrees Can Change Everything<\/h3><\/div><\/div>

Changing the point of view doesn't require rewriting everything. Sometimes, shifting the angle by a few degrees reveals a completely different story. Instead of \u201cWho we are,\u201d start with: \u201cWhat\u2019s changed in your world that makes us necessary?<\/strong>\u201d That shift alone reframes everything.<\/p><\/div><\/div>

From Description to Relevance<\/h3><\/div><\/div>

A product campaign can highlight features, or the pain it resolves. \u201cI do X\u201d becomes: \u201cI help people like you solve Y.<\/strong>\u201d<\/p><\/div><\/div>

In cognitive psychology, this is called perspective-taking<\/em> \u2013 the ability to step into someone else\u2019s point of view. It\u2019s not about being nicer, it\u2019s about being precise. People who practice it build trust faster, negotiate better, and sell more \u2013 because they speak directly to what matters.<\/p><\/div><\/div>

This isn\u2019t a messaging tweak, but a mindset shift. From a world where we are at the center, to one where our audience is.
